The graphic novel ‘But I Live’ was recently featured by Karen Krichmayr in one of Austria’s most widely read newspapers, Der Standard. The article examined graphic novels focusing on the Holocaust, while featuring the Narrative Art and Visual Storytelling project and Barbara Yelin’s work:
The artist Barbara Yelin describes the appeal of the graphic novel, especially when it comes to conveying such complex topics as Nazi history: “For me, a picture is less a statement and more a door, an invitation, a question.” And thus a key to a better understanding of our past.
